ABOUT ME

"The best way to predict the future is to create it." - Peter Drucker

Growing up in Southern California I always knew I would go back east to college. Syracuse University was the “perfect fit” for me! I have always had a great love of the fashion industry; from design, to marketing and public relations as well as photography. I am a senior Fashion Design student in the College of Visual and Performing Arts; also doing a Marketing minor at the Whitman School of Management and Fashion and Beauty Communications Milestone at the Newhouse School of Public Communications.

I am a part of the Social Media Team for the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse and am very interested in public relations especially as it relates to Fashion. As I have begun the pursuit of the Fashion & Beauty Communications Milestone with Newhouse I found I have a very strong passion and acumen for this type of work. I have been working at SU since August 2012 at VPA’s Admission Offices, as a tour guide for their prospective students as well as doing normal office duties. For the Social Media Team I am sent to cover events on campus, take photos and post to our various school websites, Twitter and Facebook accounts. Please have a look at my resume & the letter of recommendation from my employer at Syracuse University, Shawn Rommevaux| Senior Recruiting Specialist | Social Media Strategist.

In my freshman year I was selected to be an Ambassador of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, as well as being chosen as a peer advisor every year starting in the fall of 2013 which helps new students adjust to college life. I am a Board Member for DanceWorks, the largest club on campus, doing graphic design work as well as being a choreographer. Since freshman year I have worked as one of the stylists for the Annual Newhouse College of Communications Fashion Show. I have also worked doing hair and makeup for the VPAs Senior Design Students Lookbooks. I have interned every summer at various design houses and also gained invaluable experience as a stylist assistant the past two summers as well.

One of the most important experiences I have had as a college student was doing a semester abroad at the London College of Fashion Spring 2015. The sights and sounds of London, as well as Italy, France, and Spain have opened up my eyes to different realms of the art and design industry. The architecture and museums have given me a never ending source for inspiration. I believe studying abroad has shaped me to become the designer, photographer, illustrator, and stylist I am today.
